Two weeks ago distractions were stealing our time. We were no doubt busy, but it was hard to find the time to focus on the meaningful activities that lead to growth and innovation. Now more than ever is the time for deep work. Author and professor Cal Newport wrote a compelling playbook by the same name. He describes Deep Work as “professional activities performed in a state of distraction free concentration that push your cognitive capabilities to their limit. These efforts create new value, improve your skill and are hard to replicate.”
It’s time to innovate. Start small. Set aside 15-30 minutes a day. Grow it into a daily ritual. Get in a groove to create new ideas – the world is going to need them!
