CARIAD, INC.
OFFICE SPACE
New Kid on the Block
Volkswagen Group Company, CARIAD, is officially the new kid on the block in the booming neighborhood of Redmond, Washington—better known as the “Tech Capital” of the Pacific Northwest. Located just east of Seattle, the city of Redmond was the ideal location to establish their office space.
With famous neighbors including Microsoft, Nintendo, AT&T, and Amazon, the automotive software team was eager to fit in with the locals. They wanted a transformative location, selecting a former REI site and reshaping the space into a sleek and modern environment. American Interiors contributed MillerKnoll furniture solutions, Falkbuilt interior construction, and Mecho window coverings to take their space to the next level, utilizing elements from the Northwest in the theme of the office.
It was important for employees to feel a connection to their urban environment while attracting and retaining top engineering talent. Using Falkbuilt Timber, Walls, and Glass Fronts, American Interiors constructed two mezzanine areas and 13 conference rooms. Throughout the 35,000-square-foot space, furniture was selected carefully and aesthetically to bring the colors and climate of Redmond, Washington into the office.
American Interiors outfitted two offices, 256 workstations, phone rooms, different-sized collaboration areas, printer areas, and a terrace complete with outdoor furniture. Plus, custom pieces were used strategically to allow for an office ambiance unique to the company.
