Patriot Golf Day 2022

It was a day to remember at Inverness Club this past Monday, June 27, 2022.

As Independence Day approaches, what a wonderful time to celebrate America by giving back to those that have sacrificed their lives in order to protect our freedom. During our 5th Annual Patriot Golf Day hosted by Folds of Honor—American Interiors Chapter, we raised an incredible $450,000. That’s the equivalent of 90 educational scholarships for families of fallen and wounded soldiers!

This year, we started the fundraising festivities early. On Friday, June 24, we welcomed LPGA Hall of Fame Golfer Nancy Lopez to Toledo, Ohio. A strong supporter of the Folds of Honor organization, Nancy hosted a kids golf clinic at First Tee Lake Erie with proceeds benefitting Folds of Honor. On Sunday, June 26, two highly decorated Navy Seals were welcomed to Inverness Club for a “Fireside Chat.” Sharing stories of courage, determination, and perseverance, these incredible men reminded us of the power of love and family.

Finally, on Monday, we were back on the golf course at Inverness Club for Patriot Golf Day. The day started with American flags flying through the sky as the Patriot Parachute Team jumped from above. We were thankful to have Toledo Police, Toledo Firefighters, and the 180th Fighter Wing present for another year of opening ceremonies. After 18 holes of golf, our sponsors heard from Gold Star Daughter, Liz O’Hare. She spoke about how Folds of Honor has made it possible for her to receive a completely debt-free education.

Overall, we had an unbelievable day raising $450,000 for deserving families. To all of those that donated and helped to make this day a success—THANK YOU! Your gratitude and generosity are making a huge difference.
